Bob Forte is a Gestalt therapist who has been in private practice since 1980. He works primarily with adults individually or as couples. He is a graduate of the Gestalt Institute of Central Ohio where he was a member of the clinical faculty from 1994 – 2009. Bob also received hundreds of hours of training and supervision in individual, group and couple counseling at the Transactional Analysis Center of Dayton including 50 hours of training with Eva Reich in Reichian bodywork and 65 hours with Richard Erskine in Integrative Psychotherapy. From 1985 through 1994 Bob worked extensively with law enforcement personnel conducting stress management, critical incident debriefings and human relations training. For the past ten years he has been an employee assistance counselor and organization development consultant at the Ohio State University and has maintained a counseling practice at Wilbridge Consultation. Bob holds a Master’s degree in Psychology and has been licensed as a Professional Clinical Counselor since 1988. He works with mood disorders, relationships, anger and conflict resolution, PTSD, clinical consultation with other therapists and depth therapy with persons who desire continued growth. Bob works on a contract basis with groups or organizations in need of consultation or training in specific areas. He is a panel provider with many insurance companies and employee assistance programs.
Most recently, Bob’s career has included intensive work with couples and exploration of blending Zen principles and mindfulness with more traditional Gestalt practice. His path, as he now sees it, is to live compassionately while becoming wiser and more fulfilled as a therapist, trainer, father, spouse, pet owner and human being.
